A good match
We do not choose the first person who is free. We look at the appointment, your needs and preferences, and the interpreter’s experience.
Why SIA
SIA grew from firsthand experience with both interpreting and agency operations. Over time, Ashley saw how decisions about matching, preparation, communication, and follow-through could either support an assignment or create unnecessary barriers. SIA was built to make those decisions more intentionally.
The difference
Words like “professional,” “reliable,” and “quality” matter only when you can see what an agency does.
You can see the difference in how SIA learns about requests, matches interpreters, remembers preferences, shares updates, and responds when plans change.
How SIA works
01
We do not choose the first person who is free. We look at the appointment, your needs and preferences, and the interpreter’s experience.
02
A good experience should inform the next request. SIA uses feedback and preferences to make the next match when possible.
03
Deaf people can see information, share preferences, and give feedback.
04
Interpreters do their best work when they get clear details, time to prepare, quick answers, and respect.
05
Clients can request services, see updates, and tell us when keeping the same interpreter matters.
06
Stough Connect lets people share information. SIA staff make the final match.
What this changes
“One appointment is one moment. Strong relationships can make the next one better.”
SIA remembers helpful information from one appointment to the next. We will try to use preferred interpreters, but we cannot promise they will be available.
Next step
Tell SIA about your appointment. Sending a request starts the process, but it does not confirm an interpreter.
